Sixth Graders cast their vote...and the winner is...
Students in the 6th grade voted on their favorite Nutmeg Nominee. The winner was The 7 Professors of the Far North by John Fardell. This action packed, suspenseful and exciting book kept them from wanting to go to their next class until we finished a chapter. We are looking forward to see who everyone else in Connecticut voted for.

Newbery and Caldecott Award winners announced.
The American Library Association has awarded the 2008 Newbery Award to Good Masters! Sweet Ladies! Voices from a Medieval Village, by Laura Amy Schlitz. The 2008 Caldecott Medal winner is The Invention of Hugo Cabret by Brian Selznick.
